Government Loan Grants

There are many programs and grants out there for students to pay for school they are attending or going to attend. What about after they graduate if they still have student loans owed? Are there any programs or grants out there to help pay off student loans after graduation?

It seems that everywhere I look they just want to send me information about how to get grants I want to apply for them on the web!

Can I get any financial help towards studying a distance learning course that I either don’t have to pay back or can pay back at a later date?I work full time with quite a good wage, I want to finish my AAT accounting qualification but don’t currently work in accounts so my employer won’t fund it. I just can’t afford to pay for the course at the moment due to bills, debt etc. Any help much appreciated.

I’m not sure if I have to files taxes this year, no income only grants and student loans. The amount is under 4,000 dollars. I’m a single mom of 1 but the father claims the EIC because I don’t have income.

I would like to go to real estate school and get my license but I’m strapped on funds. Any suggestions?

I recieved an award letter telling me what I was awarded but I want to know when I get my check.It stes that from my pell grant a portion of it has been disbursed but I didn’t get anything yet.

I am currently paying for college with a $35,000 loan per year. I heard somewhere that if I declare independent on my taxes that I will be eligible for government grants that would help me reduce my debt. However, I also heard that there is a minimum amount of money I have to make per year to do this and I am currently only making $3,000 through summer employment.

I was wondering if anyone knows if they’re grants available which you don’t have to pay back to in order to pay back student loans. I almost have $7000 in student loans and I was wondering if there’s a grant available. I called one place called Easton and found out it was a scam :-(. Thanks in advance.

If the government (state or federal) did not have some sort of college financial assistance, how would that affect American society? Would private lending institutions be motivated to dish out college loans? Would enrollment at college drop significantly? What other issues may arise?

I have heard that one can get grants if you are minority and i’m half middle eastern so would that count? does anyone know where i could go to look for grants or scholarships or both!?! I’ve looked on various sites and they all are trying to get you to buy something first

I am living at home in my first year and my parents both have good jobs. However, i was wondering whether i would get and grants or bursaries because everyone i know seems to be able to get one. I have a friend living at home with her parents and she is getting £2000 free money that she does not have to pay back. I do work part time 15 hours a week.

I want to talk to an actual person who can help me with Pell grants, schooling, career choices, etc. Councelors in colleges just try to get you to go to their school, but I want some un-biased help.

well as tutition for students attending colleges that DO NOT include Living Expenses. We’re all students that’s going to pay back the same type of loans as students with (housing) Living Expenses covered. I’ve been out of school since May 07. I can get all the grants and government loans for titution but can’t find Living Expenses grants/loans because of my credit. Look I have to pay back what’s owed already but can’t continue college because I have no where to Live! I’m from Texas and trying to continue my education in Atlanta GA, because of my field, and I have no co-signer’s in my family eligible for a loan, what can I do. I ask because,I know only one woman who worked,paid her way through school ,but many who got grants or scholarships.

The men I know who’ve graduated either worked their way through or paid off student loans.

If i have student GRANTS (not loans) and I fail a class, do I have to pay them back?? Is there some kind of rule to this? I can’t imagine getting paid for like 2 years and just keep failing and getting to keep the money!! Thanks for the help?!

I am interested in taking some business/computer/communications courses and would like to do it online, but I am not sure if student loans and grants will help pay for these.

My mother makes too much (70K+/yr gross income) for me to be able to get state grants (Washington State), and I am curious if I were to break free of being a dependent student that it would help me out by decreasing my “household” income. I figure that I could get married to a girl in the same situation and perhaps make things easier on myself. I have been living in my own apartment for two and a half years, so I would say that I have my own established residency, but I am truly clueless. Having good grades and being self-sustaining through work and loans make it feel like I should be receiving some kind of assistance. I work way to hard I believe to not be getting some support. Alternatively, if there is advice for people trying to make their way through school, while making excellent grades at a private college that doesn’t offer scholarships, then that would be appreciated too! I just did the whole Financial Aid thing but the admissions guy hasn’t told me how much they are gonna cover. Is it time to start applying for the grants and loans? If so which ones are the best and pay out the most?

Yes i recieved a 1098A or w/e the form is the college sends you and it says in box 2 i paid 2700 dollars on tuition and fees and i recieved 2000 dolars on scholarships and grants i am just wondering if I can use that amount for my tax refund when i file my taxes and i can recieve the higher education tax break. I am 18 and I am single and NO ONE else can claim me as a dependent… THank you

I have awful credit because of a bunch of bad checks i wrote 3 years ago, can i get student loans i really want to go to college.

I am 28, a single mother of 2 and I am looking to finally start attending college this year. I know that I qualify for pell grants and such to pay for tuition but does anyone know if you can recieve student loans on top of that to help with living exspenses while attending classes. I have a job I just cant work full time anymore and attend classes and still be the kind of mother my kids deserve to have. I can still work part time I just need help paying the bills while I’m in school. Please if anyone has any info on this let me know.
