And I would be SCARED all the more that this company wants you to apply for grants through them and ask you to pay $4,000 because that is definitely not going to get you any results. Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) and Grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture. Even SBA does NOT give out grants. (See for more information) While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business -- THERE'S NONE. If not I think that you should write the grant yourself. If you fail 10 times, you save $4,000. Grants are always given through the government so if you are not getting it from there I would be suspicious. I also doubt the government would charge you to apply for a grant as grants are given free of charge. Check with the and see if you can find more information there. Hope it helps!
